Saying goodbye to my better half - Ronit.

RunAway Bay TEXAS

Just a few miles past BridgePort on highway 380 you will find this gem of a place. Stopped for the first of many sandwiches AND to try and get the TWITCH channel to broadcast. I had not realized just how hot it was outside...HOT!!

If time was permitting I may have meddled in the cold water a bit - but we need to HAUL A$$, so we just stopped for a few photo shoots.

The Forbidden Trespassed Treasure Kingdom

Was trespassed from such an amazing collection of expensive collector's garbage. At first I drove in as the gates were open and there were so many signs along the highway piercing the fences by the highway. Actually - I passed it and after a mile made a U TURN so I could show you the vast acres of collectibles from the early 1900's.

So as I was saying.... Drove thru the gates and parked by a house. Got out and was taking in all the "things" around me when this little old lady came out and told me I am trespassing ( in a gentle sweet tone) and that she forgot to lock the gates this morning. She also said they had sold the entire lot contents to someone. (we are talking about 40-60 Acres of stuff). I begged just to take a few pics for the blog and she said I could take millions of pictures - FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE. So that's exactly what I did. parked the car on the side of the road and walked up and down the property line and took pictures of some of the collectables. Mike Long - - You would have loved to see the vehicles she had!!! Here are a few pics. You will need to ZOOM IN to enjoy all the unique items.

Bride Bit Bull Statue

Kept driving on highway 380, and from way far away "I thot I saw a puttycat" (yeah - not everyone is gonna get that - sorry GenZ) Really - I thought on the horizon of the road was visible a giant BULL !

But I excused it for some trees together making a shape that looks like that. Well - 10 minutes later - behold - ONE GIANT BULL. And in the picture you can see all the "WIND" he is making.

Driving into the SUNSET

Post city TEXAS was our stop for the night and still had 100 miles to go. The sun had began setting and i FLOORED it to make it into POST before dark. Reason being that on smaller roads, at night, the headlights attract deer and other animals. Hitting a deer at 90 miles an hour - NOT SO GOOD. Not that I WAS actually DRIVING that fast, but if I were, well - you can imagine.

The SUNSET was too beautiful for words. Wanted to stop a dozen times and take pictures but we had to make the miles to reach POST. Eventually - I could not help myself and stopped to take some photos. BTW - there were few bambis walking on the side of the road so this area would be dangerous at night.

POST TEXAS - home sweet home for the night

Drove into post just as the dark was settling in. The moon was large bright yellow and smiling. The hotel was built in 1912 and has a large dining area, Library and the furniture is all genuine antique. Tomorrow morning we will let everyone know if the beds from 1912 are still comfy hehehe

After settling in to my room, I walked the entire town both directions and 3 minutes later was back at the hotel - working on the blog. One interesting thing I noticed was that parts of the newly cement poured sidewalks are full of love letters and grafitti that were done as it was drying. At first I thought naughty kids and teens were up to it - but later was told that the sidewalks with grafitti were by the old theatre and the actors are the ones that did it.

Well - that's it for now - gonna shower and hit the hay (literally)

SEE YOU ALL TOMORROW

Love the old signs, looks like it was an old town long ago the way all the signs are reset, or maybe it was....
